  1. Another high quality image Anyhow, it shows that the donut project actually did end up as a pair of amps.Magura
  2. Hi Andrics,No, not really. I'm drowning in work (supposedly to be considered a good thing), so the driver is on stand-by for the nearest future. Magura
  3. It works very well, and the magic smoke stays inside the 3 legged critters Magura
  4. Yeah I had that feeling as well....spill the beans fluffy Serb Magura

    The first F5

Hmm, it seems that knitting has gotten her attention for now. I guess it will take about "one sweaters time", till she picks up the soldering iron again.Magura
  6. Thermal characteristics are about the same as of copper. Look up graphite, and you got it. The big deal is that it has higher thermal transfer capacity in the direction of the fibers, so you can make two components track quite well thermally. I can't remember the temp differences of the case to carbon heat spreader, but I'll measure that this evening. Why such interest all of a sudden? Magura
  7. What do you want to know? I mean more specific?Magura / Whom declared the Donut project "finished" last Sunday.
  8. Ohh, this almost sounds too good to be true. Thanks Oliver.Magura

    24/192 USB

It sure smells like one of those Beringer thingies that I'm not allowed to have Magura

Sure I'm nutz, that's been confirmed frequently Demo board = fun toy. Simple really Magura

    24/192 USB

That looks real interesting.....and they got a demo board. Now how to convince them to send me a demo board? Magura
  12. Hmm, seems like me culpa. The square is not 20Hz, but 25Hz, which makes a lot more sense. According to the calcs I've made, it sure does not do 20Hz in a reasonable way.20Hz sine is no problem though.Magura
  13. Thanks Vladimir,There are some nice, very clear, close-up's on the Gitzo page. Could be easier to just make one, as they're rather simple. Maybe an improved tripod Gitzo....Magura
  14. That could very well be the end of that story. Making one is sure less hassle than shopping for one Magura
  15. Yeah, I ought to get myself a small tripod. Any recommendations what to buy? Magura
  16. This is how it clips. Obviously that could happen with a little more grace, but I am most likely never to find out how it sounds anyway, as it is somewhat overkill for my taste in speakers. So what the hell, it can clip as it pleases Magura
  17. You're perfectly right Ston. I turned up the intensity, to try to get some better pics. Obviously not a good idea, but as Choky already said, I'm a clown with a camera. Magura
  18. I have no idea why it accepts 20Hz It should maximum accept some 25Hz, best case scenario, so don't ask me Yeah, thermistors are on their way. Magura
  19. I figured that today was a real good day to get the scope running. Every time I power it up, I wonder why it still works, but then again, it's been working for a few decades, so why shouldn't it work for another decade? First 20Hz square into 8R. This is actually better than I expected it to be. I aimed for things going south below 30Hz, and even at 20Hz it's actually fair enough.Second is a 20hz sine into 8R, nothing to complain too loud about. The rest from 30Hz to 20KHz was relatively boring, as it's simply as it should be Magura
  20. That's real nice. Great that Alex has come so far, that he can now go all the way, and use his abilities. That he is a nice guy as well, only makes it even better. I had the pleasure of spending some time with him in San Francisco a couple of years ago. The clip of pouring the mold, sure brings back memories. The attached pic is showing the pouring of the mold for the main chassis of the Donut.Magura
  21. Speaking of Choky.Anybody seen him online today? I sent him a few pics, and that usually generates a response right away....Magura
  22. I'll see what I can dig up for you. Choky is also curious....Magura / Whom is still very happy with his new amps!
  23. The Netgear was struck by lightning. It sure didn't like that treatment The PSU survived though, and 15V is fine for a B1, so I simply just replaced the innards of the box, and added a few holes. What do you wanna know about the B4? I took the liberty to pop the hood of it, and will get the manual in a couple of days.Magura
  24. I guess it's time you get a laugh on me I had a friend visit me, whom had been given a B4 by Nelson Pass. I put it in my system, just using the buffer (B1), and switched off the rest of the circuit.I kinda liked the sound of it, so built a B1 an afternoon, a couple of days ago. Care for a B1 in a gutted ADSL router Magura
