  1. The "ToDo" list:1) Machine rectifier bridge PCB's2) Clamps for the capacitors3) Heat spreader for mosfet's4) Back-lighting5) Bus bars6) A load of anodizing8) A fantazillion threaded holes. One down, 7 to go  Magura

  2. even Variac is faster in making amps ........

I hate to tell you this, but of that F4 he has, 1/3rd was built by Chris Bridge, Nelson Pass, Jan Didden, and yours truly......or it would still have been a project as I write this. :) Magura
  3. Definitely. In my case, spent two afternoons populating the amp PCBs, two afternoons sorting the PSUs, two months figuring the best way to use them PADA heatsinks, a few working days to build up the boxes... In total, about three months...

3 month is not too bad....this project is soon to have its 9 years birthday  Magura
  4. So, I'm impatient, so now I'm going to kill myself  I'm so keen to hear 2 things:1) Is it working?2) Can it drive F4 ;-)

Given that I can keep the pace, I may soon be able to give you an answer to #1.#2 I would take for granted if the answer to #1 is yes  Magura
  5. So, to conclude, you're actually more into machining than building the actual device...

Naah, but the building of the actual device, (meaning the amp module), is done, so there's just some mechanical stuff left. I've though always considered the mechanical part, to be 95% of an amp, at least if you count the hours spent.Magura
  6. The "ToDo" list is still fairly long. Off the top of my head:1) Machine rectifier bridge PCB's2) Clamps for the capacitors3) Heat spreader for mosfet's4) Back-lighting5) Bus bars6) A load of anodizing7) Supports for the doughnut's8) A fantazillion threaded holes. I hope to have a chance to flick the switch sometime during the summer (2009).Magura

  7. For presents like this, I'll do all these jobs (doing it anyway) and I'll even take out the garbage, walk the dog, and cook...

I'll pass the offer to the Mrs..In my crystal ball, I see Stein doing the "wig and mop" routine  Magura
  8. Do you have children? I want to be one of them... And wait for Xmas... and presents... you made yourself..

I think we can arrange something....Usually the Mrs. is facing a load of dirty dishes, every evening....and we have a huge garden, lots of grass and weed, all nice little childrens jobs  Magura
  9. damping properties , what else ?anyway - I forgot that you're not making signal cap with these ..... feel free to use what you want ...... :moil: even drek tube .........

Ok, now we're on the same page again <_< I found it hard to see what why you wanted to do something like that, to a PSU cap. Anyhow, I guess oil and then aluminum could be nice, no?Magura
  10. Ya' a show off!! he-heBTW, my speaker project is turning out great;-) Yeehaaaah.....I could supply you with a link, but I am not sure yet,,, :moil: Steen

Still no thread? <_< I just got my grubby little paws on a bunch of naked 163uF 630V Vishay PP film caps, think I will make some respectable housing for those, and use them for this project as PSU caps. One of those per rail should do the trick, no?Magura :moil:
