  1. fuck diy meets ;I'll pop on your doors , if next year PSM will not need visa for Denmark ....... and I can find some normal low cost flight to Danskeland ........

Sounds good, but really, a visa should be no problem. Such things can be arranged  Magura
  2. I finally got around to doing the math, for a phase plug, for taming the notoriously shouty FE166e. Yes, I know, loads of different objects has been in use for this purpose, but most has been like "hey that socket/tube/broomstick looks like it fits".I decided to add a little math to the subject at hand, and used a logarithmic function to calculate a decreasing radius towards the tip. Result: Niiiiice well behaved FE166e.Magura

  3. Ok, ok, time to calm down. When you come to visit me, I'll introduce you to one of the finest Danske inventions... LEITRA... (since we took over the production of the Avancee version)

Something tells me, that it wasn't that kind of "inventions" he was thinking of  Magura
  4. Wait and see, if you develop the right way, in a couple of years you'll reach our "standards":rofl:

I've been living at your side of the iron curtain, regarding DIY, you're better off than I am here. What you can get, is maybe not the most fancy looking stuff, but it's working, it's available, and it's affordable....that's more than what you can say about the situation here  Magura
  5. You did it again ! Whatever you need - you just machine it !The universe as it is, is not going to tolerate those escapades of yours much longer - you know the "Pinocchio" story

Hey, it's not may fault that Denmark has turned into a sub-standard country. Anywhere else, you'd have the choice to just go and buy them. .....here it's simply faster to make it yourself, compared to waiting for such to be ordered, and be in back-order, then shipped to me on a couple of weeks, if I'm lucky. These took me like an hour to make, and they're somewhat better quality  Magura  EDIT: Hey, didn't Pinocchio end up with a pretty girl in one of the versions?
  6. So, today was a step closer to flicking the switch.I for some reason couldn't find the isolation washers for TO-3 packages, so, yes you guessed it, I machined a bunch instead. Not being able to find them is maybe to stretch the truth, but the only place withing the kingdom I found them, is from Elfa, and they want 1.5eur a piece. Not happening for the pi$$ poor nylon version. So I made some out of FR4 board, they even got copper on the upper surface, and a nice press fit  Magura

  7. Did you build and test the amp boards yet? Probably some tweaking to do on those :huh:

Build : yesTest : no As I am out of hefty rectifiers and still lack some parts for the PSU.I do plan to get this running sometime in July though, so it won't be long  Magura
  8. Magura ...... you know that Papa is plain def to my cries for adoption .......on second thought , will ya adopt me ?I'm eager to learn to make these Metaldanske thingies ........

How about an on-line seminar? You know, the Mrs. sure won't appreciate any more children, and if we will have to adopt both you and Stein, that's simply just not gonna fly  I'll add a sample to your little package (which by the way is getting close to take-off, as I cut PCB for you as well when making those boards).Magura
  9. BTW, if you are looking for proper size of caps, I have a few... 18 or so of these... Would be glad to swap them for a same make CD-960... :huh:post-13-1245349854_thumb.jpgAnd I could throw in two pairs of spk-conns... smaller ones... as on the image...post-13-1245349928_thumb.jpgdammit... edited the post too late...

Naah, I just sent a bunch of the Siemens equivalent of those caps to Choky.....and those binding posts  Really Stein, for a guy with a very well developed size complex, that's not gonna fly  Next in line is actually most likely some respectable binding posts, just ordered the material today, zirconium-chrome-copper. Real nice stuff, uhmn, and the TiN plating  Magura
  10. Just don't say these are one inch thick...I won't be able to stop thinking you have some sort of small-size complex... Regarding size of things... I know I do...

Well, it's either calculations, or just make them real big. I made my choice  They're "only" 3.3mm thick, but it's 2 oz. copper and PTFE with glass. I made a quick back o' napkin calc, which exposed the spades as the weak link, the rest does more than 100A  Magura
  11. Am I allowed to say CRAP! ?Well, it will not make you feel better but last weekend (Saturday, to be exact) our new lathe got caught on fire.... Actually, it started from within the lathe... Guess I was right when I told them that it won't work with gasoline instead of oil in the gears department...

My condolences :buehehe: The bright side: You won't have to take that discussion again  Magura
