  1. I don't know... :scratch_head: Maybe you should buy a UV and X-ray camera/scanner/whatever - just to be on the safe side :buehehe:Nice toy! :good2:

Does having access to an X-ray scanner count? :Viannen_loungelizard: Yeah, it's good fun, and quite educative as well. You catch a mismatched differential pair within seconds, without as much as touching the circuit :good2: Magura :happy64:
  2. As you all know, the one with the most toys wins :Viannen_loungelizard: So I figured I would give myself a thermal camera for my birthday. Today it was in the mail, so I fired up the Donuts as they represent the most interesting image at hand.It turns out that the Donuts actually works as expected, everything is within approx. 1 degree C.Magura :happy64:

  3. That's a fact, but as this could be a project for somebody with a less relaxed attitude towards that kind of stuff, I just wanted to point out that if the project was made for those voltages, there would be options. Those whom stray away from the beaten path, most likely also have an idea about the consequences (counting out Helicopter-boy that is).Magura :happy64:

  4. Well, if she goes on a diet for a year or two, she may even turn out to be a relatively good looking woman :sarcastic_hand: How about making this amp usable on -12V and +24V ? That would sort out a problem that sure will arise, as they don't like the power transformer any place near the inductors.12 and 24V SMPS at 150W is quite cheap and common, and does not sport that issue.Magura :happy64:

  5. No, no, no, no, and no :sarcastic_hand: Now that you have finally begun having interest in real amps, you could as well make a real input selector for the pre section. You just build as many pre stages as you need inputs, and just one psu. Hook up one pre section to each input, and power the one you need. When you wanna switch input, you simply switch the power on, to the respective input section, and power down the one that you used previously. This way you get rid of relays / switches in the signal path, and we both know that sooner or later they're gonna cause trouble. Don't forget to divide the reference to ground, or you will get into trouble.Magura :happy64:

  6. I just saw your "twin" thread at big Diya. It's gonna be fun to see if anybody there has the balls to actually build one.Regarding Eagle......you know I can deal with it, so it has to be a walk in the park :buehehe: Magura / whom soon will be served pancakes :happy64:

  7. For a super low power Donut, I would think such a transformer is close to ideal, as that would have been my second choice, if I had not made air core donuts instead. The only drawback I came think of, would be loads of heat generation, if you some day wake up, and feel like having a few W of power. How big are they? Magura :)

  8. Well, Metaldanske has figured that he may have to deal with the fact, that he needs to find a different place to store those magnets.I can make the speaker do 20Hz....that's all very impressive. What I can't make it do, is pass 25Hz or so on the way. Looses total control of the cone. Now why is that?Because some phucker has blocked half the horn with magnets  Magura
